hi, i'm Judith Rae

Happy Autumn! 🍂 🍁

For sure, this is my favorite season. Simple things like a cool breeze, leaves changing color and the smell of pumpkin spice make my heart giddy with excitement! Gratitude fills me to the brim and joy consumes me.

This excitement is an incredible boost for creativity and I do believe we are all creative beings- some of us have simply worked out more of our creative muscles than others.

I’m riding the wave of joy and making sure to do what I love each day. Including listening to Madeleine Peyroux Radio on Pandora as I concocted this Halloween Elixir.

Here’s how it all started, I was speaking with my friend Jennifer over the phone, she mentioned how she was getting over a cold (cough cough) and then I asked if she juices?! She said she really wouldn’t even know where to begin.

As we continued to talk she remembered when she was in Mexico with a few friends and the bartender made her a special drink which he called “Vampire’s Blood” and she LOVED it! Well she later found out it was a juice elixir with red beets and other veggies. Below is my creative attempt at Vampires Blood.

I hope you enjoy it too!

Vampires Blood :: an Elixir 🧛‍♀️ 🧛‍♂️

1/2 bulb of fennel w/stalks and fuzz.

3 green apples or 2 depending on how sweet you want it.

3 small red beet bulbs or 2 large bulbs.

2-3 inch piece of ginger

1- 2 limes.

I suggest buying all organic ingredients. Wash, chop, juice and enjoy!

Below are some health benefits: 🤓

Fennel: rich in folate, vitamin C, magnesium, cobalt, iron, and essential oils that contain powerful anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Excellent for indigestion, used as a natural antacid to help reduce acidity and inflammation in the digestive tract. Fennel is able to prevent and stop the formation of gas in the stomach and intestines. Known to be highly beneficial for sinus congestion, bronchitis, renal colic, anemia, hypertension, macular degeneration, constipation, bloating, diarrhea, and irritable bowel syndrome. Fennel is used to help protect against cardiovascular disease and cancer. Fennel can ease and regulate menstruation. Fennel is known to help strengthen hair, prevent hair loss, relax the body, and sharpen the memory. If you’d like more info click here this is where I gathered my facts.

Green Apples: a true brain food, feeding neurons and increasing electrical activity. Apples also have traces of flavonoids, rutin, and quercidin—phytochemicals that are responsible for heavy metal and radiation detoxification—as well as the amino acids glutamine and serine, which help detoxify the brain of MSG. This fruit helps cleanse and purify the organs, improve circulation in your lymphatic system, repair damaged skin, and regulate blood sugar. Apples are the ultimate colon cleanser. Apples are excellent for healing SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) and other digestive disorders. Apples are also hydrating on a deep, cellular level. They provide precious trace minerals such as manganese and molybdenum, as well as electrolytes and critical mineral salts that help the body rehydrate after exercise or stress of any kind. Eat an apple each day to keep the Vampires away. 🍎 🍏  For more click here

Red Beets: always best to buy organic and make sure they are non-GMO too. Beets are packed with vitamins, trace minerals, anti-oxidants, phytochemicals and valuable glucose which is great for a boost of energy and healing throughout the whole body. Beets support healthy cells and genetic material, they help maintain a healthy metabolism of fats and carbohydrates and help keep blood sugar down.

Ginger: one of the world’s oldest and most popular medicinal spices. Known for its ability to help with digestion, prevent colds, flu, motion sickness, and vertigo. Ginger is an anti-inflammatory and can also help ease menstrual cramps, nausea, heart burn, migraines, sore throats, exhaustion, fatigue, and constipation and it is great in providing relief from the stomach flu and food poisoning. Lime: ultra-hydrating and electrolyte-producing. Packed with absorbable vitamin C and calcium. The limonoids (a.k.a phytochemicals) in limes help bond  vitamin C and calcium together creating alkalinity in the body which helps prevent the growth of cancer. Limes are great for cleansing out the liver, kidney, spleen, thyroid and gallbladder. They help purge toxins we collect from exposure to plastics, synthetic chemicals, radiation and poor food choices. For added benefits, drink lemon or lime water first thing in the AM as they reawaken the healing properties of water and alkaline your body.
