Earth day is everyday so let’s plant some trees! Click here to plant trees.
I’ve always admired photographer Sebastião Salgado’s initiative to make this world a healthier and happier place with his organization Instituto Terra an “environmental organization dedicated to the sustainable development of the Valley of the River Doce,” founded in 1998.
“Experience proves that along with the recovery of the green, springs begin to spurt again and species of Brazilian fauna, at risk of extinction, have a safe refuge again.”
I too have a heart for our planet and am committed to helping our planet thrive. Joining efforts with photographer KT Merry I’d like to reach a goal of 2000 trees planted for Earth Day, Friday April 22nd together we can plant trees and help our planet thrive.
Last weekend my ten year old niece was listing out all the ways she can help save our planet and as she spoke these words out loud I chimed in with these thoughts:
• reuse and recycle.
• carry a refillable water bottle instead of buying bottled water.
• commit to planting one native tree per year and we can help our planet heal and thrive.
• eat more veggies and fruit…less meat and dairy.
• think before you buy. Everything we spend money on is an investment… so let’s invest wisely.
Looking for a documentary about trees and nature? I would highly recommend Call of the Forest
What an inspiring documentary about the wisdom and absolute importance of the forests and trees.
Journey with Diana Beresford-Kroeger (visionary scientist, conservationist and author) to the most beautiful forests of the northern hemisphere and learn more about the absolute importance of trees.
Diana’s bio-plan: if we each commit to plant ONE native tree per year for the next six years we can help our planet heal and thrive.
“My heartbeat is part of the ancient conversation between the forests and the oceans.”
– Diana Beresford-Kroeger
I hope you too will join us. Here is the link. Every dollar counts! $1 = 1 tree planted!
