I truly value self-care. I’ve seen my life shift tremendously as I continue to listen to my body and take great care of my whole self.

When my father passed away I felt shaken to the core of my being. I had been working around the clock for years to go above and beyond in my business. Along with networking, photoshoots and edits I also had a paper newsletter I’d snail mail out to hundreds of clients, vendors, family and friends every month (w/ the help of a mighty team).

I knew I couldn’t ignore the depth of the loss I felt and I also realized that I wanted more time to take better care of myself. So, at the suggestion of my big sis I began learning spiritual methods of healing in upstate New York. This all lead me to taking better care of myself with daily practices along with the ability to clearly hear my heart.

When my heart screamed BRAZIL, I didn’t hesitate and booked a three-month long trip where I worked while I revitalized my Spirit. Time spent with family, friends mixed in with a lot of dance, laughter, nature and playtime helped me feel alive again.

Arriving back home I had a clearer vision for what I wanted. Realizing the joy I felt near the ocean I decided it was time for me to try something different.

This pivot was instrumental to my growth as a human, a creative and also as an entrepreneur.

• I moved closer to the ocean.

• I made time to care for myself, make new friends and grow my business.

•  On the way to the ocean was where I met the love of my life and now husband.

 

As I continue to invest in myself I’ll keep sharing what I’ve found works for me in hopes that maybe you too will find it useful.

Focus and Create ::

Here are some of oils that I’ve been diffusing to support myself in creativity, uplifting my spirits and in focusing while I work. I’m really into mixing cardamom, cedarwood and peppermint, test it out and let me know what you think.

 

 

Fun fact :: I watched Oprah’s 2020 Vision Tour Visionaries : Jennifer Lopez interview and found out that like me, JLO also says affirmations each day!!!

Recipe :: Take Me to Brazil Shake 

*I prefer to use all organic ingredients. Serves 2

 

2 cups of water

 

2-3 Brazil nuts

 

1 tablespoon of raw coconut butter

 

½ – 1 inch of fresh ginger

 

2 tablespoons of oats

 

5-7 pitted dates

 

1 teaspoon of turmeric powder

 

1 teaspoon of Cinnamon or Pumpkin Spice

 

1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

 

¼ teaspoon of ground cardamom

 

1 frozen Banana

 

2 handfuls of frozen Kale

 

6 cubes of ice

 

Blend and enjoy!
